Normal contact performance of mortise and tenon joint: theoretical analysis and numerical simulation

چکیده

Abstract This article aims to investigate the contact characteristics of mortise and tenon (M&T) joints in traditional timber structures. In particular, normal embedded compressive between surfaces M&T joint was investigated. Based on basic theory tenon, a elasto-plastic model, which can reflect real behavior wooden structures, proposed. Coulomb friction utilized describe tangential slipping surfaces. Micro-morphology scanning tests wood samples with different roughness were carried out determine parameters involved model. The model subroutine compiled by FORTRAN language, implemented into ABAQUS through user-defined interface (UINTER). Then proposed verified shear considering pressures. Finally, finite element (FEM) straight subjected cyclic reversed loading, based developed, FEM “hard contact” surfaces, also performed. simulation results validated experimental results.
